Darkside - Psychic

Mind blown. I have no idea how this album evaded my collection for this long, but now that I have it, I'm making up for lost time.

Like so many rekkids in my collection my introduction to Darkside came from a fellow vinyl junkie, El Hefe who over coffee one afternoon jumped to his feet when he heard a track from their self titled EP playing.

The jumping action was followed by a "we need to turn this up" instruction and then followed the outpouring of love for Nicolas Jaar. Of course, I had to buy the album after that, I mean how can you refuse?

The flow of this album is just exceptional, an almost trance-like journey that gently weaves between dreamy electro into an undeniable toe tapping, head bopping beat that just keeps you hooked. I'm not the worlds best writer, so forgive me for not being able to better or more eloquently describe this awesome rekkid, but trust me...it's a must have in your collection.

There are parts of this album that remind me of Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein's work on Stranger Things and parts that are reminiscent of Pink Floyd. Effortless electro with lots of meat on its bones.
